Quarry
Cava is a Spanish designation of origin for sparkling wines made by the traditional method. The region covered by the appellation of origin, called the Cava Region, it mainly includes the Catalan region of the Penedés (provinces of Barcelona and Tarragona). There, San Sadurní de Noya is the most important production center. The headquarters of the regulatory council are located in Villafranca del Panadés. Cava is also made in other parts of Spain. The Cava Regulatory Council determines the Cava Region to be formed by a total of 159 municipalities of the provinces of Barcelona (63), Tarragona (52), Rioja (18), Lleida (12), Gerona (5), Álava (3), Saragossa (2), Navarre (2), Badajoz (1) and Valencia (1), that as a whole make up the delimited production area of Cava.
