Tinto Pesquera – The origin of a legend
Although the beginnings were not easy, in the years 70 in the last century, the time finished giving the reason for the determination and tenacity of the young Alejandro Fernandez. After more than 10 years of hard work, the small winepress of stone of the XVI century was the germ of one of the most prestigious wineries of Spain. At the present, the results of so much effort are appreciated all over the world.
Tempranillo vineyards, the “queen of the grapes”, the delicate variety in which Alejandro is a master, cut through these lands of castile watered by the River Duero. The vineyards, arranged in trellis low, “to best capture the heat from the floor”, are factories of sensations and pleasures that come through the wine. They grow in a poor soil, but well-drained, of sand and gravel over a base of limestone and clay, that is ideal for the vines, with the help of the air, the rain and the sun, manufactured flavors and aromas rich in nuances and the treasure in the grapes. Of its more than 200 hectares of beautiful vineyard wines are elaborated in the wood save a massive respect for the fruit; wines, with the passing of the years, gain in complexity and nuance without losing its original character, and that have made of Tinto Pesquera synonymous with the best wine of the Ribera del Duero.
