Description

ZARATE is the pioneer of the development of the wine Albariño as it is known today, in the years 50. Ernesto Zarate was the founder of the Feast of albariño Cambados winning for three consecutive years the first prize, 1954, 1955 and 1956, after his third victory, he retires and does not return to present their wines to the competition.

From the harvest 2000 Eulogio Pomares has dedicated all her time to the care of the vineyards and to the elaboration of Albariño ZARATE being the winemaker viticulturist.

ZARATE is a family-run property located in Meaño heart of the Salnés Valley in the D. O. Rias Baixas, the property is set in a Manor house that was built in the XVI century and rebuilt completely in the EIGHTEENTH, your project, based on the natural care to the centuries-old vineyards of the property, is to express the characteristics of every parcel in wine varietals and limited production.

The tradition ZARATE starts in 1707 by Diego Zárate and Murga, the First Marquis of Montesacro by Decree of Philip V. After 7 generations the family ZARATE continues taking care of the family vineyards and making the wine.
