Tasting notes: Champagne Veuve Clicquot Brut
Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label manages to reconcile two opposing elements: complexity and silkiness, and keep them in perfect balance with an intense aroma and a lot of freshness. This ability to please makes it ideal as an aperitif and perfect as champagne to accompany a meal..
The assembly of the Yellow Label is made up of grapes between 50 and 60 different vintages.
Mix a 30-45 % of reserve wines with grapes up to 50 to 60 different raws. Pinot Noir predominates (50-55 %), that provides that structure so typical of Veuve Clicquot, while his Chardonnay (28-33 %) provides the essential elegance and delicacy in a perfectly balanced wine and, finally, a touch of Meunier (15-20 %) which serves to round the mixture.
The long aging in our “chalk pits” (minimum of 3 years for Yellow Label) is what gives champagne its silkiness.
