Description
Tasting notes: GOSPEL CASTLES – CASTLES THE GOSPEL TINTO 2013 (MAGNUM)
- Deep and intense color, with marked violet reflections. very expressive nose, with a great presence of red fruits such as black currant and fresh and toasted notes. The attack is delicate, silky and the tannic structure is powerful and elegant. The palate is dense and very velvety thanks to the optimum ripeness of the grapes and the body of the ripe and well-integrated tannins.. Good persistence and fruity notes at the end. Remarkable exponent of the elegance and silkiness of the Merlot de L'Évangile. (tasting note at the time of bottling)
The winery
In 1990, Barons de Rothschild Estates (Lafite) acquires The Gospel from the hands of the Ducasse family, concerned with ensuring continuity in care and permanence over time of the property.
The influence of DBR is first felt in a more refined selection of the Grand Vin, as well as in the creation of Blason de L'Évangile as Second Vin. Efforts are also being made to improve the health status of the vineyards through a partial restoration plan developed from 1998. The complete renovation of the vats and cellars from 2002 bring the domaine to its current configuration.
An old edition of the “Grands vins de Bordeaux” describes the Grand Vin del Château l’Évangile as “…a complex and elegant wine endowed with an incomparable bouquet and finesse”. by numerous amateurs, subtle quality and elegance is indeed the mark of this incomparable wine.
