White wine Raimat 100 Wooden case 2013 – 2015

All of our history captured in a single wine. Raimat 100 commemorates the centenary of the winery with the best of our experience and the unique personality of our environment. Wine stores only, of great complexity and elegance, with different orveles texture; profound and long-term, worthy of collectors. The result, a vintage white a singular of international prestige.

DEVELOPMENT (VINIFICATION)

In the development of Raimat 100 the grape is pressed manually by extracting to a maximum of 50% of the must and goes directly to new French oak barrels where it ferments at a controlled temperature of 16 ºC, part with natural yeasts. A percentage of the must is clarified (to give finesse and length) and the other is not clarified (to give texture). A parenting 6 months on lees with battonage weekly to give creaminess and malolactic fermentation in a small proportion of them.

Raimat 100, a white wine ideal companion for meats and poultry, seasoned with honey, tarragon, vanilla, nuts. Ideal with shellfish and cream sauces, or butter.

Tasting notes: RAIMAT 100

  • View: Straw yellow, clean and bright.
  • Nose: Great aromatic intensity, highlighting notes of white flowers and citrus, fresh fruit like peach, and a background roastiness that is due to its special vinification and ageing in barrels.
  • Mouth: Offers deep notes of nectarine, thyme and nutmeg well integrated with light touches of minerals and dried fruit and nuts. Delicate tannins provided by the oak make this an elegant wine, noble and feelings that linger in a long finish of citrus.

The winery:

 

The current landscape of the finca Raimat has little to do with the beginning when Manuel Raventós began his dream, after the acquisition of 3.200 hectares of barren lands in Lleida. In those days the farm was just a desolate desert from which it was difficult to imagine that it could be obtained from fruit some day.

In the middle of the desert who bought the Raventós family, they erected a castle on top of a hill. A coat of arms engraved in the stone over the door, and explains the name of Raimat. In him appear to be a bunch of grapes and a hand, in Catalan, “raïm”, and “mà”, which illustrate the origin of the word Raimat.

The winery Raimat is the result of two architectural projects only. In 1918, Joan Rubió i Bellver, a disciple of the famous Gaudi, built what would be the first reinforced concrete building in Spain and in 1988, Domingo Triay would be in charge of carrying out the new and current wine cellar at Raimat.
