Tasting notes: LUIS ALEGRE – PLOT No. 5 RED
- View: Intense cherry-red without any evolution in the ring.
- Nose: Complex, due to the selection of the grapes and the wood. Very spicy and balsamic, red fruits, tones of vanilla and a tan background.
- Mouth: Elegant, harmonious and fresh. Tannins well integrated, and the aftertaste long.
The winery
Located in Laguardia, in one of the most exclusive areas of wine production of Spain, Bodegas Luis Alegre born in 1968 the passion of a family wine.
History
1968 Foundation of the winery Luis Alegre. Young wines are made and parenting.
1999 New was the hold of the hand of great professionals: creation of a new society along with the founder, and Alejandro Simó in the direction.
2010 After several years of r+D+I and subsoil studies is the first vintage of the vineyards unique.
2017 Starts a new stage in the winery with the development of projects in terms of viticulture, cooperage, enology of precision and wine tourism.
Farms
This winery has 52 hectares of own vineyards located in privileged areas of Rioja: Laguardia, Labastida, The Villar and Torremontalbo. A land composed of limestone soils, suitable for the cultivation of the vine.
Finca La Reñana, Plot No. 5 and Farm Portiles are the most prominent. All of them with base limestone that guarantees the fineness and longevity of the wines. This type of land interspersed in some cases with ferrous components, (Farm Portiles), fine sand (Finca La Reñana) or raids salinas (Plot No. 5) by being this property is located within the Natural Park of The Lagoons of Laguardia character interestingly salínico (distance to the sea approximately 150 km).
The characteristics of each farm, as differentiated allow to produce wines of very different and all in the line of the philosophy of Bodegas Luis Alegre: the conception of wines of high and very high range. This translates into productions limited and selection processes are very demanding, always oriented to the quality of the wine
