Somiatruites has a strong personality. It is a wine very aromatic that represents the full force of the white wines of the Penedès, that leads us to a wonderful journey through our land. Elaboration:

Grapes from the harvest is mechanized in the night to preserve all their qualities. Preparation and fermentation of the varieties separately at a controlled temperature of 16ºC. Wine made products authorized by the

Catalan Council of Organic Farming (CCPAE).

 

Description

Tasting notes: FERRÉ I CATASÚS – SOMIATRUITES WHITE 2017

  • View: pale yellow color.
  • Nose: high aromatic intensity, with notes of banana and almibarados, with some floral nuances, due to the presence in the blend of the typical variety of the Penedès: ESC005236.
  • Mouth: the silkiness of the Chardonnay and the work of stirring of the lees (batonnage) makes it more silky, wide and long.

The winery:

This is one of the most young and modern in the Penedès, both in terms of age -the winery is not started until the year 2000- as to the illusion that distils as the image that they give their products and facilities, where it stands out the design ground-breaking and spectacular of the labels.

Although the family had been dedicated traditionally to the viticulture in the Granada, José María Ferré and Catasús and his wife, Sonia Serrano Quetglas, started from scratch, acquiring several estates in the appellation of origin throughout the decade of the eighties, and sold their grapes to several wineries. From 1990, the dream of creating a brand of her own lived the first step, with the construction of the neomodernista Masia Gustems, distance of the highway between Vilafranca and Sant Sadurní. This building, which houses the elegant restaurant Sumoll, it is one of the great attractions of the visit to Ferre and Catasús, as well as the small but beautiful gardens that surround it.

At the beginning of this century, the time came to equip the winery with the latest technology and launching the new brand, in addition to image, has behind a productive process honest in search of the quality: working only with the grapes that produce the near 50 hectares of vineyards divided into three farms (planted with cabernet sauvignon, merlot, syrah, tempranillo, grenache, macabeo, Xarel lo, parellada, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, muscat and chenin ), have own machine to pick the grapes at the right time, have fermentation tanks for red grapes with pistons and, for cava, retain the traditional cava with a Catalan vault of the old farmhouse.
